Art has always been a universal language—a powerful medium through which humanity expresses its dreams, struggles, and identity. The exhibition "ART IS NOT A CRIME" is a testimony to the enduring role of art in society and celebrates creativity as a fundamental human right. This collection bridges the gap between rights and expression, highlighting that art transcends borders, challenges prejudice and connects communities.
By incorporating Trypillia motifs into certain works—which refer to ancient Ukrainian civilization among other countries, known for its complex ceramics and symbolic designs—these paintings draw a line from the past to the present. The patterns, texture, color and processing of authentic archaeological rock of Trypillia, found on the territory in Ukraine, symbolize life cycles, harmony and resilience. They remind us of the rich legacy of storytelling and innovation that is deeply rooted in human history, and underscore the idea that art is a cultural heritage that should be cherished and celebrated. The artworks represent a pure celebration of the intrinsic value of creativity, free from societal constraints, but anchored in a cultural memory and the right to create.

Doelverklaring van de tentoonstelling
Kunst is altijd een universele taal geweest—een krachtig medium waarmee de mensheid haar dromen, strijd en identiteit uitdrukt. De tentoonstelling " ART IS NOT A CRIME " is een getuigenis van de blijvende rol van kunst in de samenleving en viert creativiteit als een fundamenteel mensenrecht. Deze collectie legt een brug tussen recht en expressie, en benadrukt dat kunst grenzen overstijgt, vooroordelen uitdaagt en gemeenschappen verbindt.
Door de opname van Trypillia-motieven in bepaalde werken—die verwijzen naar ondermeer oude Oekraïense beschaving, bekend om haar complexe keramiek en symbolische ontwerpen—trekken deze schilderijen een lijn van het verleden naar het heden. De patronen, de textuur, de kleur en het verwerken van authentiek archeologisch gesteente van Trypillia, gevonden op het territorium in Oekraïne, symboliseren levenscycli, harmonie en veerkracht.
